Andreas Hofer - The Liberty of the Eagle

Andreas Hofer - Die Freiheit des Adlers

In 1805 Napoleon emerges victorious from the Battle of Austerlitz, defeating the Russian and Austrian troops. Tyrol had to be handed over to Napoleon. Andreas Hofer and Joachim Haspinger travel to Vienna to Archduke Johann to ask him to bring his influence to bear for Tyrol's sake where all privileges and long-standing rights its people enjoy have been snatched away. The Archduke promises to lend his support. Full of courage and hope and driven by Haspinger, a fundamentalist Capuchin priest who favours using any means necessary to combat the enemy, the peace loving freedom fighter Andreas Hofer finds himself swept up in a daring adventure: a war against Napoleon.
