Former cello star Karl Michaeli is the very epitome of a grouch and the refugees being housed by his neighbour Esther are a particular thorn in his side. Until Hamid, a 16 year old Syrian boy, breaks in to his house. The alleged criminal proves to have great musical talent. Karl senses that he has an opportunity to make up for what he failed to do for his own son.
