MIPTV 2015: ORF-Enterprise scores with cutting-edge program portfolio

ORF-Enterprise boosts worldwide sales with cutting-edge fiction and wildlife TV-program portfolio at MIPTV.

Best-rated TV-series “Suburbia – Women on the edge” has been picked up by SRF (Switzerland).
A significant deal was concluded with ARD/Degeto (Germany) for 14 episodes of ORF’s crime series “Tatort”. Other recent Tatort sales include Danish broadcaster TV2 as well as Slovenia’s RTV. Furthermore Russian Pay-TV channel “Ginger HD” will soon air several seasons of ORF’s kids and edutainment program “Yummy – Cooking with kids”, “Trick Factory”, “7 Wonders” and “Cracker Snap”.

TRT (Turkey) secured a package of 10+ hours of ORF Universum documentaries including “Secrets of Bumblebees”, this year’s winner of the International New York TV & Film Festival Award.

FTV Prima (Czech Republic), TVP (Poland) and YLE (Finland) picked up our latest 4K-highlight “Wild Venice” which has also been acquired by National Geographic Channels for their international feeds, as well as by SBS (Australia).

Following this MIPTV’s claim “Focus on the Nordics” broadcasters DR (Denmark), NRK (Norway), RUV (Iceland), SVT (Sweden) and YLE (Finland), will contribute to the projects “Greece – Highlands & Islands” and “The Canary Islands” with a substantial prebuy.

A large VoD-package consisting of highlights of ORF’s Universum selection including “Wasteland Warriors”, "Nature Tech” and “Sea of Creepy Monsters” has been sold to Blue Ant Media (Canada). In addition, over 70 hours of VoD content, consisting of ORF fiction top TV-series “Janus”, “Fast Forward” and further factual programs have been distributed to UPC cablecom.

Music sales in Latin America include Eurochannel (Brazil) acquiring the rights for more than ten hours of the tasty documentary series “Musically-Culinary” and Globosat (Brazil) airing the baroque concert “Musica sacra” from the Vienna St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

Accompanying this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, the lavish documentary “Conchita – Unstoppable” has been acquired by Channel 8 (Israel) HRT (Croatia), RTE (Ireland), RTS and SRF (Switzerland), RUV (Iceland), Out TV (Benelux) and Deutsche Welle among others.
