NATPE Prague 2014: ORF-Enterprise scores with factual content

Vienna, 27th June 2014

With outstanding nature documentaries from its ORF UNIVERSUM strand and thrilling factual programs ORF-Enterprise again sealed great international deals at NATPE Prague, taking place from 23rd to 26th of June 2014.
The gripping World War documentary “The Road to War” has been acquired by various broadcasters from Eastern Europe such as Channel One (Russia), STV (Slovakia), CYBC (Cyprus), MTVA (Hungary), TVP (Poland), ERR (Estonia) and LTV (Cyprus).

STV Slovakia closed a deal with ORF-Enterprise including three topic highlights from ORF’s premium nature & wildlife series strand UNIVERSUM: the touching bird-documentaries “Owl's Odyssey”, “Planet Sparrow” and “Return of the Hoopoe”, astonishing wildlife programs about two fascinating insects “Secrets of Bumblebees” and “Sky Hunters - The World of the Dragonfly” and the riverine nature films “Danube - Europe's Amazon” as well as Jackson Hole’s Grand Teton Award winner “On a River in Ireland”.

An increasing interest in science programs was noticeable at this year’s market – Russia’s First HDTV secured their first episodes of the science series “Newton” in addition to a big UNIVERSUM package.

Croatia’s HRT focuses on culinary documentaries and concluded a deal, comprising the documentaries “Dished up – A culinary journey”, “Frankfurter, Viennese, Hot Dogs - It's All About the Sausage”, “Noble Sweets – A History of Temptation” and “Sweet Vienna”. TVP acquired the current affairs and history documentaries “Return to Europe” and “Sarajevo – The Assassination” in a larger package for “Belsat” (Belarus).

ORF-Enterprise’s top-format “Where to, Mr. President?” and the entertaining children’s music show “Kiddy Contest” were highly requested at the market in Prague.

Fox Bulgaria is in negotiation for further seasons of the crime-comedy series “Four Women and a Funeral”.
