Vienna, April 12th 2018

Significant sales of the new line-up of ORF's renowned UNIVERSUM strand surmount 30 years of top-quality blue chip UNIVERSUM Wildlife documentaries and 5 years of UNIVERSUM History.

The fascinating portrait of one of the most notorious Roman emperors in "The Nero Files - Uncovering an Ancient Conspiracy" will soon delight audiences in Japan (NHK), Italy (RAI) and Russia (Rossija K). APT (USA) selected the spectacular drama-documentary "Maria Theresa - Europe's Mother in Law" revealing a previously unseen side of one of the most famous members of the Habsburg dynasty.

The Swiss broadcaster RSI acquired a significant wildlife package including "The Canary Islands" and the awarded documentary "Wild Ireland". This 4K-highlight of renowned filmmaker John Murray has also been picked by YLE (Finland), Rossija K (Russia) and HRT (Croatia). The Croatian public broadcaster also picked the wildlife doc "Stars and Stripes" as a part of a multiple hours package. This documentary revealing the hidden secrets of animal camouflage will also air on RAI (Italy) soon. ARTE (France) follows the trail of wild animals in an urban surrounding by acquiring "Walk on the Wild Side". Canal Encuentro (Argentina) picked the two nature and wildlife titles "Wild Venice" and "High Life at Low Temperatures".

Discovery Italia continues its cooperation with ORF-Enterprise by closing a movie package deal for its channel "Giallo". The Italian broadcaster has secured the rights for further episodes of ORF's best-rated crime movie series "Scene of the Crime".

A significant volume deal has been concluded with Hungary: Digital Media and Communications operating the channels TV4, Story 4, Galaxy 4 and Film 4 picked 100+ hours of ORF's latest seasons from both crime series "K-Files" and "Fast Forward". They also bought all 3 seasons of the successful ORF-Dramedy "Suburbia - Women on the Edge", which reached an average market share of 30% in its home market Austria. The series had been previously acquired by Olympusat (USA) for its Spanish language channels Ultra Luna and Ultra Tainment.

A content-package consisting of science highlights including the pop-science series "Newton" has been licensed to Films Media Group for DVD release in the US and Canada.
